Support for our GEI United Nations Delegation to COP26
The Green Economics Institute is sending about 50 people to COP26 in Glasgow in November 2021 and
we have been very active in setting agendas and creating new methods and ideas for tackling climate change and helping
achieve treaty outcomes. We regularly attend as many Climate Change Conferences as we can and are very active participating in them. We also now act as raporteurs in some of the working groups for other research groups globally.
Since we are an independent charity, we deliberately dont take funding from big organisations or companies if there are strings attached in order to be able to say what we know many other people are thinking but unable to say.
Our delegation will emphasize how climate solutions must be feminist, gendered, intersectional, include indigenous people as leaders out of this mess- in other words a complete reversal of the human cultures of established power. Nothing else will solve the crisis of climate and nature. Our delegation is diverse, inclusive, including indigenous peoples, LGBT+ people, women, feminists, people from all backgrounds and walks of life and from all the corners of the earth and all ages.
We are an official research organisation of the United Nations UNFCCC although entirely independent and receive no help or funding of any kind from them- it is all voluntary and our network of people across the world are all volunteers, we have no paid staff in the charity. Therefore we hugely appreciate any donations from individuals that you can make to help us with this vital work.
