Green Economics Institute Membership 2024 and 2025
Our members enable the work we do to create a world of social environmental and economic justice- a caring and sharing economy for people, other species, the planet and its systems.
Our members meet virtually most weeks at our optional weekly drop in session on zoom. Our trustees meet once a month on zoom
They also meet in person from around the world several times a year for weekend workshops and planning as well as conferences, training sesssions, summer schools and work together virtually on our leading academic journal, The International Journal of Green Economics as well as our books. We are a publisher with over 100 titles in print and 1000s of writers from all over the world.

We rely on a lively membership to provide public education working for social and environmental justice behind the scenes in long term projects where it really counts and helps lead and change public opinion. We work to establish truth and science and ensure our message gets through to people all over the world.
NB Our membership is for supporters of the Green Economics Institute and does not confer trusteeship. If you would like to apply to become a trustee- please fill in the form in the donate area.
Our aims:
- To reform, reshape and repair main-stream economics to provide equal access for all in terms of new thinking in philosophy, methodology and ontology for economics i.e. “Leading change by example.”
- To found an inclusive and progressive economics discipline, called “Green Economics” based on environmental and social justice and on diversity amongst all humanity including learning from natural science and other sources. This way of living will be diverse and inclusive with access for all. It will include those with no voice, and those with no power, and those with disability of all kinds and all minorities.
- To make economics efficient, and relevant to the concerns of the 21st century.
- To make economics practice and theory accessible for everyone, (including women throughout the world). Everyone on earth has an economic impact, economic rights and economic responsibilities.
- To change peoples, (especially economists) perception of the natural world and its beings.
- To influence governments and politicians to adopt the above into policy-making.
